Kevin Abel

State Transportation Board

Kevin Abel is the Vice Chairman of the State Transportation Board. He represents Congressional District 6 which includes Cobb County, DeKalb County, and Fulton County. He was elected to the Board in 2019 by a caucus of state representatives and senators from the 6th Congressional District to serve a full five-year board term.

Originally, Vice Chairman Abel is from Cape Town, South Africa. He was 14 when he moved with his family to the U.S. in 1979. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Together, with his wife Cindy, he founded Abel Solutions, a software consulting firm in 1994.

Vice Chairman Abel is involved in the community and sits on many boards including the Carter Center Board, the Arthritis Foundation’s Georgia Chapter Board, the Davis Academy Board, the Technology Association of Georgia Board, and the New American Pathways Board. He is also involved with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and is a Leadership Atlanta graduate.

A resident of Sandy Springs, Vice Chairman Abel and his wife, Cindy, have three grown children.

Membership must be renewed prior to registration for this event.
