He\nrepresents Congressional District 6 which includes Cobb County\, DeKalb\nCounty\, and Fulton County. He was elected to the Board in 2019 by a\ncaucus of state representatives and senators from the 6th Congressional\nDistrict to serve a full five-year board term. \n\nOriginally\, Vice Chairman Abel is from Cape Town\, South Africa. He was\n14 when he moved with his family to the U.S. in 1979. He attended the\nUniversity of Texas at Austin where he received a Bachelor of Science in\nElectrical Engineering.
